    Test Description
    Heartworm, Borrelia burgdorferi, E. canis, and Anaplasma phagocytophilum.

    Accuplex™ screens for canine vector‑borne pathogens. It detects Dirofilaria immitis (heartworm) antigen, C6 antibodies produced following Borrelia burgdorferi infection (Lyme), antibodies to Ehrlichia spp. (including E. canis, E. ewingii and E. chaffeensis) and antibodies to Anaplasma phagocytophilum. Accuplex™ and all panels that include Accuplex™ are not intended to meet export testing requirements.

    Test Description
    Accuplex™ screens for canine vector‑borne pathogens.     KeyScreen™ GI Parasite PCR detects 20 individual parasites, and markers for potential zoonotic Giardia (assemblages/strains A and B), and hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum) benzimidazole (e.g., fenbendazole, febantel) resistance.

    0.5 mL serum and 1.0 mL EDTA whole blood.
    Test Description
    Accuplex™ screens for canine vector‑borne pathogens. It detects Dirofilaria immitis (heartworm) antigen, C6 antibodies produced following Borrelia burgdorferi infection (Lyme), antibodies to C. Ehrlichia spp. (including E. canis, E. ewingii and E. chaffeensis) and antibodies to Anaplasma phagocytophilum.

    Knott's test for detection of heartworm microfilaria is included. Not for export testing.
  • Acetylcholine Receptor Antibody

    Test Description
    Acetylcholine Receptor Ab

    Assessment for the presence of antibodies against the acetylcholine receptor. A positive result supports a diagnosis of generalized acquired Myaesthenia Gravis.

    Interferences: Immunosuppressive therapy for greater than 7 to 10 days.

    Note: Immunosuppressive therapy with corticosteroids instituted prior to submission of results may lower antibody levels and give a false negative result.
  • Acid Fast Stain – Micro

    Specimen
    1 air-dried smear prepared from one of the following specimens: cerebral spinal fluid, feces (from dogs, cats, horses, herbivores, or avians), gastric aspirate, sputum, tissue, transtracheal aspirates, urine, or wound.
    Test Description
    Acid-fast stain applied to an air-dried smear to determine if mycobacteria present in sample provided.

    Note: Air dried smear is the preferred sample submission.
  • ACTH Endogenous (Equine)

    1.0 mL EDTA plasma in non-additive transport tube (label accordingly).
    Test Description
    Sample Handling:
    • 12‑hour fast with one flake of hay left in the stall.
    • Draw sample with EDTA whole blood tube.
    • Centrifuge and draw off plasma. Transfer plasma to a non‑additive tube and label as plasma. Lab will not run sample on whole blood.
    • Send on ice.
  • ACTH Endogenous, Insulin, Glucose (Equine)

  • ACTH TRH Stim POST (Equine)

    Specimen
    1.0 mL POST EDTA plasma in non-additive transport tube (labeled accordingly).
    Test Description
    Sample Handling:
    • 12‑hour fast with one flake of hay left in the stall.
    • Administer 1 mg of TRH.
    • Draw sample with EDTA whole blood tube.
    • Centrifuge and draw off plasma. Transfer plasma to a non‑additive tube and label as plasma. Lab will not run sample on whole blood.
    • Send on ice.
  • ACTH TRH Stim PRE and 2 POST (Equine)

    Specimen
    1.0 mL PRE EDTA plasma, 1.0 mL 10-min POST, AND 1.0 mL 30-min POST EDTA plasma (label ALL accordingly).
    Test Description
    ACTH Endogenous PRE (Equine), ACTH TRH Stim 10-min POST (Equine), and ACTH TRH Stim 30-min POST (Equine).

    Sample Handling:
    • 12‑hour fast with one flake of hay left in the stall.
    • Administer 1 mg of TRH.
    • Draw sample at 10-min POST with EDTA whole blood tube.
    • Draw sample at 30-min POST with EDTA whole blood tube.
    • Centrifuge and draw off plasma. Transfer plasma to a non‑additive tube and label as plasma. Lab will not run sample on whole blood.
    • Send on ice.
