SmartRLT Sport

Rugged. Portable. Reliable.

Whether your equine patients experienced acute trauma, suffer from chronic degeneratives lesions or are being primed for performance at at a show or race, SmartRLT Sport regenerative laser therapy (RLT) offers a treatment regimen and implementation strategy that is suitable for every practice. SmartRLT Sport is the 3rd evolution of the RLT technology we introduced in 2012 — smaller and lighter but equally as powerful as its predecessor the SmartRLT, so that equine veterinarians and technicians can easily transport and deliver this user-friendly RLT technology in clinic, at the track, and in the field.

Automatic Updates: Quick WiFi-driven updates ensure the most current software version.

Right Tool. Right Handle.

Ergonimically designed to treat the tendons and ligaments of the equine limb as well as comfortably massage the soft tissue of backs and stifles. The handpiece and optics allow for maximum light penetration with optimal patient comfort. For deep-seated lesions of the hoof, disposable caps can withstand the rugged exterior of the frog, protecting the lens and ensuring the longevity of the system.

The RLT Advantage

Regenerative laser therapy (RLT) is achieved when light is delivered in very short, very high-energy pulses. When these pulses are absorbed deep into the tissue, they create an outgoing shockwave in all directions, a photoacoustic wave, that propagates even deeper into the tissue. These waves can interact with the extracellular matrix, the web of tissue around the tendon/ligament that hold important growth factors, forcing these growth factors to be released and absorbed into injured cells when they would not have been released naturally. RLT technology broadens the scope of what can be treated to include severe pathologies often found in the ligaments and tendons of the equine athlete. Injuries that will naturally cause scar tissue can — if caught early — be effectively treated to maintain the elasticity of the tendon or ligament, or even restore elasticity in chronic cases.

Benefits of RLT

Stimulating the body to do what it does, only faster.

Stimulates capillary circulation.
Enhances perfusion of blood from vessels to tissues.
Initiates the release of oxygen from blood.
Enhances targeted tissue oxygenation.
Increases efficiency of ATP production process.
Generates more cellular energy within cells.
Promotes faster and stronger healing.

Tissue Regeneration with RLT

Forcing the body to realign and revitalize when it would not have otherwise, RLT generates photoacoustic waves that:

Propagate deeper into tissue.
Agitate the extracellular matrix.
Release the growth factors that lay dormant on injured cells.
Increase permeability of the cells so that nutrients can enter cells easier, waste can exit cells easier.
