The following positions are currently open in our Chicago laboratory.
- Chemistry Assistants: (PT) High School Diploma or Equivalent. Good Communication Skills. Good PC skills. 3 months prior
lab experience preferred. Collect and process specimens for testing. Print loads and document on log. Dilute specimens as necessary for Chemistry
panels. Find missing specimens for department. Scan all tubes into library locations. Perform basic chemistry testing. Helps provide inventory
control.
- Chemistry/Endocrinology Supervisor: (FT w/rotating Saturday shift) This position is responsible for all aspects of the department's
overall performance and provide leadership to its personnel, ensuring that all shifts are properly staffed and trained for the expected worakload,
implementing all procedural and workflow changes required by the Chief Medical Officer in a timely and effective manner, implementing and monitoring
Biohazard waste and safety procedures, maintaining laboratory maintenance and quality Control records, completing all necessary paperwork for H.R. and
Payroll in a timely manner, and assisting the Lab Manager in developing and implementing department budget as well as assist with any other functions
the Lab Manager deems necessary.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years clinical lab experience (automated clinical chemistry, endocrinology)
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good computer and organizational skills
- Data Entry: (FT/PT) Qualifications and duties include: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Good communication skills; Good computer skills,
speedy (60+wpm, 10-key by touch), accurate data entry; Detail oriented; Scan reqs into books; Other duties assigned by Supervisor. Experience in a clinical lab
setting considered a plus.
- Hematology Techs: (PT) BS Degree or Equivalent Work Experience. Good Communication Skills. 1 year clinical lab experience preferred. Acceptable
proficiency in microscopic work as determined by the Medical Director. Edit CBC loads. Must be proficient in performing differentials and Microscopic UAs. Reading
miscellaneous tests including coombs, retics, d-dimers, RA factor, platletes, fibrinogen, plasma proteins. Monitor pending as required and take the necessary corrective
action to reconcile the pending. Participate in all departmental training programs according to schedule.
- Hematology Tech Assistants: (FT) High School Diploma or Equivalent. Good Communication Skills. Good PC skills. 3 months prior lab experience preferred.
Operate the Hematology and Urinanalysis instruments with verifications. Perform required maintenance on the analyzers. Equipment verification with control samples. Set up
and assist with specimens. Prepare blood smears for reporting. Operate and maintain the slide stainer and stain the CBC slides. Set up and report misc. tests. Other tests
as requested by the Supervisor.
- Lab Coordinator: (FT) This individual will serve as the liaison between our clients and the laboratory. Candidates must be able to multi-task and work
independently. 12 years Customer Service experience necessary. Veterinary Hospital or clinical lab experience preferred. Proven ability to troubleshoot, analyze &
resolve client issues effectively. Requires good attention to detail and excellent organizational & follow-through skills. Must be able to work MondayFriday, with
alternating Saturday shift.
- Parasitology Techs: (FT/PT) Minimum, 1 year experience reading ova and parasite test and setting up fecal tests or internal promotion from an Antech
parasitology aid position with minimum 3 months experience preferred. Passing parasitology training modules and approval from Medical Director. Excellent specimen
management and organizational skills. Previous experience in a high-volume environment preferred. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Computer skills.
- Parasitology Tech Assistants: (PT) High School Diploma or Equivalent. Basic lab experience (microbiology preferred), strong background in laboratory specimen
management and handling, good communication and interpersonal skills, computer experience. Assistant will set up ova and parasite tests according to standard operating procedures.
Vet techs/assts with experience performing fecal test are encouraged to apply.
- Specimen Processors: (FT/PT) Qualifications and duties include; High School Diploma or Equivalent. Detail-oriented and a quick-learner with a background in
science or experience in a high-volume clinical lab setting. Require individual with the ability to work in a very fast-paced lab environment, good data entry skills. Good oral
and written communication skills. Must be able to scan samples into daily storage racks and test reqs into books. Collect and deliver the microbiology specimens. Other duties
assigned by Supervisor.
