Laboratory Careers–Lake Success, NY
The following positions are currently open in our Lake Success laboratory.
- Histotechnologist:
- Perform basic procedures of processing, embedding, cutting, mounting and staining of tissue specimens for evaluation and diagnosis by Pathologist(s)
- Perform basic stains and prepare solutions as needed
- Perform gross & microscopic examination of slides for quality control purposes
- Use and maintain histology instruments
- Complete all associated paperwork.
- B.S. Biology
- 2-3 years experience / HT or HTL preferred
- Shift: 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm or 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm (to be determined after candidate selection).
- Perform basic procedures of processing, embedding, cutting, mounting and staining of tissue specimens for evaluation and diagnosis by Pathologist(s)
- Medical Laboratory Technologist:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform generalist duties with experience in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis & Serology testing.
- Operate & maintain laboratory equipment
- Ensure compliance with all applicable SOPs and QC/QA requirements.
- Ability to manage & complete workload in timely manner.
- Monitor & reconcile pending lists.
- Participate in departmental training programs.
- Specimen processing.
- Prepare specimens for shipment.
- MLT or MT degree from accredited Med Tech program.
- Minimum of one (1) year lab experience in a clinical laboratory.
- Generalist experience.
- Must be proficient in performing differentials & microscopic UAs.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills.
- Experience in related veterinary laboratory sciences a plus.
- Monday to Saturday—Night shift
- Perform generalist duties with experience in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis & Serology testing.
